DALMER OF TROWBRIDGE AND LEEDS

Most of the information in the first generation of this listing was initially provided by Mike John (see http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~monfamilies/monfamili/mon-families.html).

The marriages of William and Maria (Dalmer) Dagger, George and Ann (Dalmer) Lee and Martin and Jane (Dalmer) Manning were brought to my attention by Gary Taylor, a descendant of Samuel Dalmer (b 1836).

There were two couples named Richard and Elizabeth Dalmer/Dallimore in Trowbridge in the early nineteenth century (Richard and Elizabeth (Rindall), married in 1802, and Richard and Elizabeth (Hooper), married in 1812). In some cases it is not yet clear which of these were the parents of children referred to in the parish registers as children of Richard and Elizabeth Dalmer, so there may have been other children of Richard and Elizabeth (Hooper) Dalmer who are not listed below.

2 RICHARD DALMER of Trowbridge, Wiltshire and of West Street, Leeds, Yorkshire, clothier, commission agent and grocer, was baptised on 11 Jan 1790 at Holt and died on 20 Jun 1872 at 1 West Street, Leeds. Richard married firstly, on 19 May 1812 at Trowbridge, ELIZABETH HOOPER, daughter of Thomas and Ann (Clifford) Hooper. Elizabeth was born at Trowbridge, baptised there on 18 Mar 1795 and died on 12 Oct 1853 at 23 New Park Street, Leeds. Richard married secondly, on 10 Jun 1854 at St. Peter, Leeds, ANNE (THORNTON) BRUNDLEY, daughter of Robert Thornton. Anne was born ca 1798 at Wakefield, Yorkshire, and was buried on 26 Jun 1873 at Beckett Street Cemetery, Leeds.
