BALDWIN OF YEADON AND WORTLEY

It is possible that the Benjamin Baldwin married in 1755 at Guiseley was the one baptised in 1735 at Bracewell, Yorkshire, son of William Baldwin, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Jackson, Guiseley Parish Registers 1780-1812: A Genealogical Abstract, 4-5, and the IGI, citing the Guiseley BTs. The dates of birth and baptism details of the other children, and the burial of Mary Ann Baldwin, are from the Guiseley PRs. Benjamin’s death and burial are from the Yeadon Wesleyan records (National Archives, RG 4/3972). Another possible child is the Ruth Baldwin baptised on 6 Feb 1825 at Guiseley, daughter of William, a cordwainer, and Sarah. However, a William Baldwin married a Sarah Wilkinson at Guiseley in 1822 (Guiseley PRs).
